Strangely enough, this was my science fair topic in 1980(ish). Didn't get a writeup in the Boston Globe though.
Paper vs. computer screen - The Boston Globe: "Do we read differently on the computer screen from how we read on the printed page? It’s an interesting question."I tested reading comprehension differences from a group that read off a TRS-80 screen and a printed page. Results by the way were inconclusive - sample size was too small.
