The Hollywood Reporter: Some of Hollywood’s top leaders — Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and NBCUniversal Studio Group chairman and chief content officer Donna Langley — are attending Monday’s negotiating session at the SAG-AFTRA national headquarters on Wilshire Boulevard, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The performers union noted in a statement on Sept. 27 that “several executives” from member companies of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers would be attending, though the union at that point did not specify who.
Deepfake celebrities begin shilling products on social media, causing alarm
Ars Technica: News of AI deepfakes spread quickly when you're Tom Hanks. On Sunday, the actor posted a warning on Instagram about an unauthorized AI-generated version of himself being used to sell a dental plan. Hanks' warning spread in the media, including The New York Times. The next day, CBS anchor Gayle King warned of a similar scheme using her likeness to sell a weight-loss product. The now widely reported incidents have raised new concerns about the use of AI in digital media.

Playbill: Audience members may spend one short day in Oz on their trip to Wicked, but longtime production stage manager Marybeth Abel’s exquisite visit has stretched on for 15 years. “It is incredible!” Abel states emphatically, referring to the length of her tenure. “I was on the original Les Misérables, and I did 13 years on that show. I was fortunate enough to also be the production supervisor, so I handled all of the North American companies of Les Misérables. I've been here 15 years.”
