LEGO FunFest

Today we borrowed a couple of kids and went to the Lego Funfest at the convention center. It was crowded and loud and overall pretty cool. I didn't take too many photos because there were always other people taking photos, with their kids, you just didn't want to get in the way.

Probably the highlight of the thing were some large figures. Like these:

That one there is seven or eight feet tall. The Batman is really tall too, but it has a base. My favorites were from Star Wars:

Further in there was a section called "Models from Adult Fans" or as I heard it in my head "there but for the grace of God..." There were many pieces in there that were pretty good - although also many that wouldn't have competed with stuff I did in grade school. Here was my favorite from that part:

Complete with a tiny little DALEK.

Throughout the exhibit there were building areas, one for cars, one where they were making a map of the US, and several with only one color brick and a sponsor. The red bricks were sponsored by Target and in their area you were supposed to build things for their dog Bullseye. They even put out little suggestion sheets. I followed their suggestion and did this:

Can you tell what it is?

The kids had fun and I was mildly entertained, so I guess the trip was a success.
